With or Without You | Dance Recital Videography

Sigh...I love mixing my passion for video with my passion for dance or theatre.  It makes me furiously happy!

Here is an excerpt from my favorite dance that we captured this year: A contemporary ballet performance to a string version of "With or Without You".  Chills.  Every time.  I love Lisa's School of Dance in Bartlett.  Both my girls dance there and we love each and every teacher.

I was honored to do their photography and video this year, and it was the largest job I've ever undertaken!  I learned a lot from it, and I feel confident that I can take on one or two more studios next year as well.  Feel free to contact me if you know of a dance studio that needs a new photographer or videographer!

Amy & Kyle | Geneva, IL Wedding Film

Amy and Kyle chose a beautiful location for their April wedding: Riverside Receptions in Geneva, IL. Thankfully it was all in one location, because the cold winds were blowing, but guests stayed warm as we had a great view of the turbulent water behind them for the ceremony. Then we went upstairs for the reception, and Amy and Kyle's guests danced the night away! The bride and groom opted for two videographer coverage with a short-form cinematic film edit. This is a highlight of shots from their wedding day. Enjoy!

Kobe & Avita's Wedding Film | Bartlett, IL

Kobe and Avita had a beautiful wedding week in January! I photographed 3 days of preparation events leading up to videotaping the big day on Saturday! It was wonderful to spend the week with such a great couple and celebrate with them!

Josh and Brittany | Cinematic Wedding Film

It was a pleasure to videotape Josh and Brittany's wedding this summer at one of our favorite venues, The Narnia Estate in Lemont, IL.

In our pre-wedding consult, Brittany explained that she didn't want a long boring video that she'd only watch once or twice.  She wanted something short and fun that would be exciting to relive over and over again, and something she could share with friends and family.  She was the perfect client for our new offering: Cinematic Short-Form edits!  Seen here is the highlight.  The main short form film is approximately 20 minutes in length, and shows the ceremony in depth, with the help of toasts and readings narrating their story.  Snippets of the preparation, photo shoot, first dances and partying are added to round out the story.

To be able to achieve the short form edit, we must have two videographers filming the wedding, with costs starting at $250/hour, which includes editing.  As there is less time to tell the story of the day, we require extra hands and eyes to capture everything, and add in extra artistic touches that might not be possible with just one videographer.

Also now available is the option to purchase our edited files suitable for uploading to a mobile device or iPad.  Take your wedding film with you to share and enjoy!

PS: Special mention to Denise http://www.weddingsbydenise.com/ for introducing me to Josh and Brittany.  She is a wonderful wedding coordinator, whom I'd recommend in a heartbeat!

Baby's 1st Year Photo Plan

Babies grow unbelievably quickly in their first year.  I remember when my girls were that young, and at least every week I'd be commenting about how they've changed, or if they've taken on one of my husband's characteristics, etc.

I urge parents to photography and videotape your little one as often as possible, but in order to capture as many of their milestones and emerging personality, I have created Baby's 1st Year Photo Plan.  It's an incentive to have your baby photographed 3-4 (or more!) times within the first year of life.

If you book 3 full-priced sessions in one year, you receive a FREE custom slideshow DVD with 40 of your favorite session photos set to music.  The slideshow is a $100 value.

If you book 4 full-priced sessions in one year, you receive the slideshow as well as $100 print credit off at least $200 worth of prints or products.  (A photobook is $200, so you get it half price!)  We have memory boxes, accordion brag books, canvases, large wall prints, custom wood frames and much more!

Please contact me at Linnea@ImagesToAdore.com for more information regarding the plan.  And if you refer others, you receive even more print credits!

Baby Girl E! | Bartlett, IL newborn photography

In my group of dear high school friends, everyone has had sons and no daughters (except for me!).  Until Baby E came along, that is!  Girl power!  It was a pleasure meeting Baby E and seeing her big brother dote on her.  I think mom has big plans for her little girl, if the ballet shoes are any indication!  We incorporated some very special afghans into the photos as well as a smattering of my own props.

What do you think of the new tiny bed for newborns?

There's nothing more beautiful than the love of a mother and child.

My Irish Dancer

My 5-year old daughter Clara has wanted to be an Irish dancer since she first saw a performance when she was one.  Every year around St. Patrick's Day we would see at least one dance performance, and she would be mesmerized.  She couldn't wait until she was 4 and would be old enough for lessons.  I did a tiny bit of Irish dancing for fun and exercise when I was an adult, and I always wished that I had begun dancing at a younger age.

Clara dances with Trinity Irish Dancers, and I can't say enough great stuff about Trinity.  We've made some friends already who I think will be wonderful friends for a long, long time!  Here are a couple favorite photos that I've taken over the past year and wanted to share.  I'm a really proud mama for all that she's accomplished this year!

PS: If your child is interested in trying an Irish dance class, feel free to contact me!  There is a free class session in mid-May.
