The Proposal

What an adorable, elaborate engagement video!!! I wonder if the groom already had the muppets, or if he got them just for the proposal. What my husband would give for a muppet likeness of our family! Hmm...must remember this for an anniversary gift to him when we strike it rich!

McNamara Family Sneak Peek | Schaumburg Family Photography

Wow, time flies. It seems like only yesterday that I was pregnant with Clara and videotaping Anne and Tom's wedding. Fast-forward a couple years, and now they have two adorable kids of their own, and they are still as cute and in love as can be!

Fall wedding cakes

I adore fall weddings, and I adore cake. And magic occurs when the two are joined! Cake wrecks is a great procrastination website that I visit occasionally. Six out of seven days of the week they feature cakes gone hilariously wrong, but on Sundays they show the best of the best cakes around. I thought their feature on fall wedding cakes was worth sharing!

What can I say? I'm a proud Mama...

Okay, sorry for the picture overload, but I'm so glad I took these spur of the moment photos of my daughter last week. I must say, she's not the easiest subject to photograph. I almost never get eye contact, and when I do, she's either roaring like a dinosaur or smirking. But she was a total ham for this session, even though it only lasted about 15 minutes until the sun was too low to continue!

My girl loves her shoes. I have no idea where she inherited that little trait... ;)

I'm kind of in love with this picture. So dreamy...

Zach turns 9 months old! | Bartlett, IL Children's Photography

How time flies! Last December I was photographing tiny little newborn Zachary, and now he's a big boy; sweet and inquisitive.

Here's a sample of the photos we captured in his grandma's backyard. Oh how I wish to someday have a backyard like this!

I included samples of a few of the many ways I process photos: High contrast black and white, vibrant color, and a modern twist on vintage coloring.

Kris & Danielle Slideshow | Bartlett, IL Wedding Video

Kris and Danielle will be married this Saturday in a ceremony as unique as they are! I've known Kris now for a little over two years from videotaping theater events that he's directed or acted or acted and directed in! And when I met Danielle I could see why he chose her for his leading lady :)

They've decided to play growing up and dating photos on a projector during their first dances. I was also privileged enough to videotape their engagement last December on Navy Pier, so we have a couple snippets of that during their dating photos at the end.

I look forward to Saturday, Kris and Danielle! It will be the performance of your lifetime!!!

Gabriella in Wonderland | Bartlett, IL Photography

A friend that I showed this photo to thought that it had a very Alice in Wonderland quality to it. I would have to agree. Taking photos with Gabriella is always an adventure. In the short hour that we spent together last week, she led me on quite the adventure!

Traipsing around Cantigny Park, we had a pretend tea party and searched for those illusive Cantigny fairies in the flower beds. It's pretty difficult to get eye contact from two-year-olds, so I just create a fun environment for them to explore, and then try to keep up and capture it as they take in the wonder of it all.

I did made the mistake of bringing out the parasol too early, and it was a wee bit difficult to distract her from playing with it the whole time, but I'm so glad I brought it with!
