Meet our most recent couples!

I'm slammed with lots of editing projects, so this will be a quick update, but I thought I'd share two photos of our current wedding clients.

Christina and Nestor were married in January and are about to receive their edited wedding film. Christina's family owns the Royalty West Banquet Hall in Willow Springs, so they naturally had their ceremony and reception there!

Katie and Brian were just married in Sycamore last weekend and had their reception in Rochelle. Brian's sister organized the entire wedding and did a fabulous job! I actually didn't get a chance to meet the couple before their wedding, but I felt very touched at their ceremony; it was quite emotional! Love can really change someone's life, and Brian and Katie are proof of that!

Both couples opted for video-only coverage, but I always bring my still camera with so I can snap a photo for the blog and their DVD cases!

Jeff and Laura are married! | Sycamore, IL wedding photography

It was a beautiful September day for Jeff and Laura's wedding. It's always nice to take a trip down memory lane, and I had quite a bit of nostalgia during their gorgeous wedding! They were married at Sycamore's Federated Church. A place I used to be a roving Madrigal musician around the holidays. The bride was in my graduating high school class, and I ran into several school mates I hadn't seen in ages. And their reception was at St. Mary's Church, where I had my ceremony 9 years ago! So lots of stars were in alignment for me to capture this wedding, but the brightest stars shone in Jeff and Laura's eyes when they gazed at one another! Congrats, and thank you for having me capture your beautiful day!

Laura wore a stunning dress, purchased from Crystal Bride in Geneva, IL.

First post-ceremony stop was to the Elwood House in DeKalb, IL.

Second stop was to Blumen Gardens in Sycamore, IL. I LOVE this location. Still thinking about having a 10-year anniversary party there next October.

And on to St. Mary's of Sycamore for a fun-filled reception!

Congrats, Laura and Jeff! Wishing you all the best!

Meet Preston | Bartlett, IL Newborn Photography

This little guy made an early appearance into the world, and I couldn't wait to capture his newborn photos! He's a lucky guy to be born into such a fabulous family. Look at how proud his big brother is!

Mom Stacy happens to be my BFF, and she mentioned she wanted to try some "celebrity style" photos of the family on the bed. That type of more informal session is called lifestyle photography, and I was excited to do something different! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating, and it was an extremely dark day. I bounced my flash and tried to maintain a natural light look to the session. I think they turned out to have a nice and cozy feel to them :)

Here's a slideshow with a couple more of my favorite photos from the session!

Annabelle | Bartlett, IL Newborn Photography

I have to admit, I was mighty nervous driving to this session. You see, Annabelle's mom is a professional photographer. We're from the same town and I videotaped her wedding several years ago. But to photograph another photographer's new baby when she has much more experience than I did? I won't lie; nails were gnawed on the way over as I reviewed my mental checklist for the gazillionth time. I did not want to screw this one up!

And then I saw Annabelle:

Cutest. Baby. Ever. The only way I could screw these photos up is if I dropped my camera and it stopped working. (I didn't).

So then I became very humbled and simply had fun with the session!

Mom Kelly now has as much as a newborn prop/accessory addiction as myself, so we had fun pairing my pink chair with her crocheted diaper cover and hat.

I saw a great antiqued white table with their engagement portrait in the background (photographed by the magnificent Jeff & Julia Woods) so I wanted to try a shot with Annabelle and these elements together.

I have to give a shout out to Kelly. Three weeks post partum, and she's wearing the same dress as in her engagement pictures. Doesn't she look fabulous?!

I'm a sucker for damask, so when I saw Kelly and Mike's chair we had to pair it with the pettiskirt and cutest headband ever!

And then we took a couple candids in Annabelle's beautiful nursery. Besides being a fantastic photographer, Kelly could also be an interior designer in her spare time! I think Annabelle will keep her busy for a while, though :)

It was hard to narrow down the images for this session! Kelly and Mike, I hope you enjoy the photos, and thanks for the honor of having me capture your little blessing! :)

If anyone is interested in a newborn session, please contact me at info@adorevideoproductions.com for a quote and scheduling. We also offer Baby Story newborn videos as well.

Here is a slideshow of some of my favorite shots from the session:

Z was busy as a bee! | Sycamore, IL photography and video

Z's parents went to high school with me and we were all in band together, so I jumped at the chance to see them again and their darling one year old, "Z". I LOVE the red hair that she inherited from her dad, and she's as sweet as can be, just like her mom!

This was my first shoot using my new external flash speedlite, and I am so glad I invested in it! It makes those darker, cloudy days so much easier to deal with (photography-wise!).

Here's a sneak peak!
